Good Points

The De-Longhi EN660 is easy to use and maintain and automatically provides Espresso, Lungo, Capuccino and Latte Macchiato at the touch of a button.

Bad Points

The De-Longhi EN660 does have one major bad point.

General Comments

Generally the DeLonghi EN660 Nespresso Lattissima is smart, stylish and does the job providing a variety of custom programmable coffee drinks to taste. A thing to watch out for which is not a design fault but more operator error is forgetting to swing the milk nozzle out of it's holder and over the cup or glass. This results in milk running all over the worktop - but you only make this mistake once (or twice in my case.) Would I buy it again? Well, I like it a lot but I do like my Latte amd Macchiato coffee hot so I would probably look for something just as stylish and with all the EN660 good points but a hotter delivery. If this were not available then I would be happy to buy it again. The quantity of froth is adjustable from low to high by positioning a small selector lever and hot water can also be dispensed if required (not hot enough for tea however). All quantities are pre-set but can easily be re-programmed to individual requirements - coffee from 20 to 300 ml and milk from 30 to 200ml. Capsule insertion and disposal is easy with spent capsules being ejected into an internal container easily accessed and emptied from the front. The water reservoir is in the base of the unit and is simple to withdraw from the front for refilling when the low water indicator shows. The drip-tray cup platform slides back into the machine to allow tall Macchiato glasses to be placed under the nozzles. The milk resevoir is a separate front-mounted container which can easily be removed and stored in the fridge when not required. After use a purge button can be pushed for a few seconds injecting a small quantity of hot water and steam through the milk nozzle for cleansing. Overall the machine is pleasing, easy to use and looks good on the worktop. Milk based drinks are warm but not hot and there is no provison for temperature control. De Longhi advice is simply to pre-heat the cup or glass but this only makes a marginal difference. If you like your milky coffee hot then in my opinion this is not the machine for you unless you are prepared to give it a 30 second boost in the microwave after removal. There is no temperature problem with Espresso or Lungo on the straight coffee side. The drip-tray platform is not easily retrieved after pushing in to accept a tall glass, a silly design fault that could easily have been avoided by the addition of a small finger indentation in the front of the moulding.
