Return flight from Cancun. Good service, comfortable plane.
Total lack of communication.
Flew Thomsonfly from LGW to Cancun end Oct07. We had a 26 hour delay. We were all sitting on the plane, had loads of legroom with seat back TVs and waiting to take off when they said there was a tech fault and would be delayed 4 hours. It then went from bad to worse. It went from 4 to 6 hours then 6 to 8 hours. We tried to get answers but not one representative from Thomson would talk to the passengers. We were actually told from the service team in the terminal that Thomson refused to speak to us. The whole experience was a complete nightmare. We were eventually told 9 hours after the flight was supposed to take off that we would be put up in a hotel that was about an hours drive from the airport. We were given letters to hand to our insurers, which wasn't on headed paper, and it said we should be leaving at 10.30 the following morning. When we got to the airport we were told it was the same plane and would keep our same seat numbers. When we finally got on the plane at 11.30am it was not the same plane as it was one that is used for short haul flights so no extra legroom for a flight that took 11 hours. A number of us passengers watched the plane being taken to the gate which had been sitting on the tarmac since the previous day. We you stay at the airport for that length of time you notice things like this. We were only going for a weeks holiday and we lost a complete day. I wrote a letter of complaint when we got back home, didn't receive a reply so I sent it by email but I have still not received a reply.
