Good Points

Excellent GUI, stable OS with protected memory, muti-processor support. All the benefits of Unix with the Apple touch. All this for £80!

Bad Points

Processor & memory hungry makes it difficult to run on the G3s, classic support is better but still slowish but then really it's obsolete.

General Comments

Apple's latest OS in the OSX series is a strong one. The BSD subsytem is tried and tested and as stable as they come. Apple's policy of open-sourcing is increasing the amount of SW available for the Mac providing Mac users with something of a SW rennaisance. Many RIP and high-end SW manufacturers are considering OS X as a server platform as opposed to Windows. The graphics in OSX are slick, the operating system is excellent and does exactly what it says on the tin. There is no need to go into the terminal and Unix side but if you do then you can make many custom alterations to personalise your OS. I would say most Mac users will be impressed and get used to OS X within 2 weeks to the point of not wanting to go back to OS9. As for value for money, when you have as close to a guarantee of hardware compatibility as you can get and you get this OS for £80 come on you won't do better unless you're a die-hard Linux fiend and then of course you lose the user-friendlyness of the Mac OS which is truly unsurpassed.
