Light and responsive. Fantastic brakes. Great frame. Excellent entry into MTB's
Gears chatter a little , finish?
After getting back into cycling after a long rest(!) I started with road bikes then quickly shifted to MTB's as they are so much more versatile and fun!
Bought the Terrago Disk with MPH Hydraulic brakes back in summer 07 and still loving it.
Pretty much gets used each weekend and looks a bit tatty now - other reviews mention that the paint scratches easily. Not sure how it compares but would agree that mine is scratched up - but then I do treat it rough.
Only niggles are the gears which chatter a little and slip occasionally - even after the guy in the shop looked at them. Not a major issue but sometimes irritates.
Also once managed to get the chain jammed down into the gap between gear and wheel and nearly broke the chain having to wrench it out (bad luck perhaps?).
I would recommend to anyone starting out or intermediate. For the price its got a good build and handles really well - and the brakes are awesome! The frame is superb and its a big brand name so future upgrades to keep up to date are going to be easy (those gears ...?). A good investment for me. I expect to keep it for a few years. Like a sado Muppet I'm smiling when I write this - it's a good friend!
