General Comments
We spent several days in Dublin and we had great experiences everywhere EXCEPT at the Arlington. Staff were rude and abusive and the food was sub-par. We went for the dance and dinner show. The restaurant/bar was crowded but our party of 4 managed to grab a table for 4. We then noticed that they had a sign up saying 'Please wait to be seated', so we reluctantly gave up the table and asked the wait staff to seat us, thinking that perhaps this table did not accommodate diners, only drinkers. The wait staff sat us at a corner table under a TV where view to the stage was blocked by several tables and a wall. The meal was overpriced, not particularly flavorful and included sub par substitutes. We did not complain, figuring that we were also paying to see the show. The show was limited to a small stage near the entrance of the bar and not visible to most diners. When my daughter and I got up to get a better view, standing near the bar, a member of staff brusquely grabbed and shoved me, and yelled in my face that we were blocking the view of the tables behind us. She did this twice. When I asked to speak to management after the show, the woman that grabbed me continued to yell and argue with me. There are much better places in Dublin City when true Irish hospitality can be found. I would steer clear of the Arlington Hotel!
