This park is run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and is another venue located in superb surroundings. The award winning Wolf enclosure is brilliant for observation and photography, with a platform allowing you to see the pack at eye level as they come over the hill. There are now beavers at the park, but as they are nocturnal you may not be able to see them.
Wildcats, European Bison, Deer, Pine Martins, red Squirrels and most Highland Wildlife, lynx, wild boar and Elk.
Snowy Owls, Choughs and other birds.
All of the animals are kept in as natural an environment as possible, with the Bison and Deer having most of the Park to roam in.
Signing from the main road is very poor, access to the park is from the old main road which runs parallel to the new one and you can go a long way out of your way if you take a wrong turn.
This is a mixed terrain location with some steep walks, some easy and a long drive around the park itself. Not totally wheelchair friendly. You need a day to explore properly, but it is well worth the time. A reasonable restaurant with nice food. Picnic areas and good washrooms. Nearer to Inverness than Perth, but fine if you are in the Central Highlands.
Very photographer-friendly, keen and helpful staff.
