Good Points

Good day image quality.
Good night/low light image if still (eg. tripod).
Cheap (because discontinued).
Solid.
Good quality lenses with optical zoom.
Works fine with a 1 GB SD card (from Lacor).

Bad Points

Low power flash.
Proprietary battery that does not last very long.
Night/low light pictures when not still (eg. handheld) get blurry very easily.
Original SD card very small (8 Mb).
Most settings can only be accessed through menus.
Small screen (for 2008 standards).

General Comments

I think the Panasonic Lumix DMC-F7 was a good camera at its time, but today (2008) is highly outdated. Yet it is compact and can take good pictures if its conditions are met - either good daylight, or low light <2m pictures with flash, or low light standstill (camera in ground, tripod, ... and subjects still). I'm still happy enough with it not to update it.
