Tesco food.
Customer service, delivery.
AWFUL. I've only used Tesco.com three times - and three times I've had terrible experiences.
For my first delivery, I'd ordered a bottle of Champagne for my partner, who had been abroad for a month and was returning the next day. It came with the security tag cap attached, which cannot be removed. When I phoned to complain they kindly told me to "walk to my nearest store" (I don't have a car) - 3 miles away - at 10pm to get it removed! I was promised a £5 e-voucher but never received it.
The second time the shopping couldn't be delivered because the van had broken down. It turned up the next day, but by then my multibuys had expired, so I'd paid for several things which I expected to be free. I was promised a refund - which I never got.
You'd think third time lucky but not in my case - this time the drivers were all off sick so the delivery was cancelled. The only alternative slot they could offer was when I was out at work. So I asked if I could collect the shopping myself and got a lift from a friend to the store. I had to wait an hour at the store for them to give me my shopping - and there was no receipt so I didn't know how much I'd paid or even what was supposed to be there. They didn't tell me about any substitutions either. I asked to speak to the duty manager but apparently he was in a meeting (at 10:30pm at night). Needless to say when I got home there were numerous items missing or on the last day of their shelf life. When I phoned to complain I was told that the items must have been out of stock - I still don't know (and neither did the call centre) if I've paid for them as I still don't have a receipt!
