Will leave you breathless when you walk out onto the stands (i was in the third tier), unique BBQ refreshments at half time, free match programmes, fantastic views, great legroom, large seats, easy to get around
One of the worst club shops i have ever been in (get this - i couldn't get a Barcelona shirt), like sitting in a library with no atmosphere
Me and a few friends travelled to Barcelona at the beginning of December to see them play Deportivo. Tickets were really easy to get a hold of, and altogether a 3 day trip cost us £110 with tickets, flights and accommodation, so its a great footballing get-away. The clubs website shows you a diagram of all the seats in the ground, and colour codes them as available or not, and you simply click which you want, meaning its great for planning where to sit if there are quite a few of you. The ground is really easy to get to, Barcelona's metro system being, cheap, fast and efficient, we got to the ground within 10 minutes from the other side of the city. After climbing hundreds of steps, we stepped out onto the stands (third tier), and were nearly blown away, the view is unbelievable, and will leave you stunned. I was advised by friends to avoid sitting in the third tier as it is too high, but it is the complete opposite. Up there, you can see the entire world, the pitch, stadium and rest of the city laid out before you, its amazing. As the stand is steep sided, and, coupled with the wind, you will need to be careful you don't fall, trust me, its easier said than done. Being steep, the view is amazing, and, even at this high up, you can see all the players clearly.
With 98,000 people inside, the flashes from cameras at kickoff is amazing. However, come the beginning of the match, the atmosphere is dire. There aren't many hardcore Barca fans, its more a family oriented place, which is a pity as it means no chanting or jeering, instead the fans merely clap and whistle whenever Ronaldinho does some skill. Even when they scored, the fans gave a mumbled cheer.
However, do not let this deter you. The Nou Camp is an unbelievable stadium (definitely the best in Europe, and I've been to Old Trafford, the San Siro, Bernebau, Anfield, Emirates and many more), and i would highly recommend you go just for the sheer breathtaking views this ground has to offer.
