General Comments

We insured our evo 6 with RAC 2 yrs ago after getting a quote through confused.com,they had the lowest premium than any we had been quoted (and we had already owned the vehicle 4yrs)
18 months ago I was driving the car on an island where I noticed someone had stopped for no apparent reason blocking the lane off in front of me,I gave them good time to move which they didn't so i started to drive around them,at this point they decided to move and drove into the drivers side of the car.
RAC have been totally useless with the whole claim,they say as long as the 3rd party refuses to admit liability there is nothing they can do about it,I paid instantly myself to get my car repaired and paid the excess of £720,now I am told because the cost of repairs were the same as my excess,it isn't their job to chase the matter no longer. I have been waiting to get my £720 excess back from the 3rd party insurers for 2 yrs come this may.
They now seem to be in favor of the person who drove into me as they are saying that they have to take his witnesses as independent even tho he submitted them almost a year after the incident!
I think they awful,when i came to renew last November they sent me a renewal,but going again on confused.com RAC supplied a lower quote than what they had told me themselves for renewal, hence I rang to take the lower quote,only to be told the price was an error and confused regularly displayed incorrect prices & things that stated I was covered for such as legal cover were not included and that it would work out far more expensive for me to retake the policy as a new customer rather than renew and accept the quote they had just posted me! Confused are now investigating, as I had the same with diamond getting a lower quote via confused,than with diamond themselves and they were only too happy to lower the premium!
So I wouldn't recommend people to insure with RAC!
