As a means of cutting my expenses I took the decision six months ago to "downgrade" to an all too familiar "old friend",having quaffed blossom hill wine and cans of stella for years, I found that by reacquainting myself with white cider brings about the same end result at a quarter the price.
The mixed bag of hilarious and shameful moments that ensued in the following months can be attributed to and indeed blamed on,white ciders with 'old frosty' being chief culprit.
The taste, although I am now used to downing glass upon glass of this acrid liquid I still wince at the thought of that first sniff of it on opening the first bottle of the weekend.I can liken the feeling of drinking this only to spooning awful cough medicine into my system as a child.A necessary evil in order to attain a satisfying outcome.A warm sugary unique mixture of assorted additives pulsing through the very core of my soul draining away the strains of the working week, the bad taste is a small drawback in a glorious bigger picture.
Though i would never encourage anyone to drink to get drunk, I cannot on gods beautiful earth understand why anyone would buy this poison for any other reason.Be you alcoholic or penniless or both. Step forward connoisseur's of cheap cider and join me in charging a plastic cup to the savior of those that like drinking but struggle for funds. Your friend and mine......frosty Jack, stand up and take a bow, before you fall down.
