Well-equipped, scenery, cleanliness, safety
Not cheap.
Having been to three of the four UK Center parcs sites (not Cumbria) this is the most scenic. Set in 400 acres of hilly woodland, perhaps not the best for buggies (Elveden is best for those).
There are two types of families, I find. Those that have never been to CP's and those that go all the time. Our children (7,5,2) would rather go here than any other single destination - you'd be hard-pressed not to have a good time.
The creche is top notch; it is the most family-friendly resort I have ever been to. Lot's to do which is free, lots of pay-for activities and plentiful, cheap and experienced babysitters.
The place was packed in the five days we were there between December 2007 and January 2008 yet there was no crush for anything.
Any child in the age range from 2-12( at least) would have a ball here.
CP's is our top family holiday destination bar none (including Mark Warner et al) and this is, in my view, their best park.
