-Well maintained planes
-Confident, friendly and knowledgeable staff
-Prompt flight times
-Good food on flights
-Good selection of entertainment available on different routes
-Great selection of new destinations
-No "on demand" entertainment system
-Interior of planes seems a bit dated (orange seats EEK)
-Having to walk through upper class to get to your "cattle market" seat at the back of the plane with the rest of peasants! Its just a tease!
I flew on the first flight to Mauritius with Virgin Atlantic and the flights were excellent. For a "Virgin" virgin service (bad pun i know) it was well organized and ran ahead of schedule on the outbound flight which was a nice surprise. The airport in Mauritius was a bit overwhelmed by the new flight and operator but the airport is poorly equipped as it is so not really Virgins fault, and not a major issue either. The staff on board the flights and at the check in desk were very polite and as we booked over the phone we also found their sales rep's very polite and helpful. We used their website to find information about the destination and check flights and prices which was all very easy to navigate and just made the overall starting experience very good.
The flights themselves were very smooth and professionally operated, a glitch with the toilets on the way home almost caused an early landing but all was well in the end! Disappointed with the entertainment selection on board the flight I attended as its not "on demand" but more linear programs with set start times you cant control, having recently flown with NWA and used their on demand system it was quite a let down and that loses 1 point for me, but really the only negative thing I could think of.
Fly with confidence! Generally the people who claim they meet rude staff are probably rude to the staff in the first place, its hard to judge personalities I suppose.
