I like Next because although the quality isn't as great as it was when Next first started, the clothes are good value for money and quite smart.
Customer Service at certain stores
I bought an item, and I currently don't live near a Next branch as I live in a village. The nearest branch is quite far for me by car (22 miles), and petrol is very expensive where I live. Basically, the security tag was disconnected and left on the item of a two piece trouser suit that I bought for a job interview. The buzzer didn't ring when I got home from the Westwood Cross Store in Thanet, and I had to go back. When I telephoned and got through to the store to complain, I couldn't get my travel expenses reimbursed and had to go back again.
In the end I got 15.00, so I basically got my item half price, and my item wasn't in the sale, but the whole customer service experience was a sham, and I won't be using this Next Store in future, and will go to the Canterbury branch in future where customer service is better.
I should have been offered compensation straight away without having to ask. And I shouldn't have been made to queue again, which in the end I didn't after kicking up a fuss when the helpline advised them I was going in.
Not good - I deserved the 15.00 compensation in respect of the aggro I got, my time is my money and I am not wasting my time or money because of a large retailers fault in serving me in the process. People do make mistakes, but the response was less than professional .
