Good Points

Everything - Comfort - Speed and Handling (for a big bike) - Bullet proof engine and Honda quality. Shaft drive and Super smooth gear box.

Bad Points

Heavy if you have to pick it up !!! Seizing brakes if used in the winter and not cleaned after a muddy wet ride.

General Comments

Well I've been riding all sorts of bikes since I was 17 I'm now 36 and was told when I bought my Pan that it was an old man's bike. I was 30 then and must say it's the best 6 years of riding I've had. I paid £4500 for a 1997 model with 17.000 miles on the clock. Like I say that was 6 years ago.....she now has 87.000 miles on her and has never let me down. The speed and handling is out of this world ( The Police have been using them for well over ten years ) I think this says's it all. As for the engine, it is smooth and very strong. I have heard of pans with 200,000 miles on the same engine if looked after. The finish is great deep colour on the paint will last and last (get the wineberry red if you can ). Watch out for rust on the swing arm and exhaust on high mileage models as this can rot through if not kept clean. I ride all year round in all weather and the fairing keeps most of the wet stuff off. Buy a taller screen from PowerBronze if like me your 6ft or over as this helps even more. All the luggage you will ever need and can be taken off with ease and with the flip up handles it's like having a set of suitcases.....GREAT

The power is fantastic 130 mph no problem and will cruise all day at 90mph. Big tank well over 22 ltr's for miles and miles of fun.

I keep looking at other bikes but just can't part with the ST1100, we are just going to grow old together.........
