Location, 5 stars, good value.
General Comments
A 5 star hotel in just the right location for exporing the city of Amsterdam. Close to the shopping, main railway station, red light district and canals. Good sized rooms with massive beds if you ask for one. Air conditioned. The usual mini-bar but items are very expensive. Note that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. About 45 Euro taxi ride from Amsterdam airport, taxi rank right outside the hotel. Good value, particularly if you book via the internet and are willing to pay 21 days in advance.
A good restaurant but the American Breakfast was dissapointing, personally I'd stick to the continental one (which is cheaper too). Having stayed at other hotels in Amsterdam I think I'll only use the Renaissance from now on.
