Good Points

Comfortable,easy to park, lots of room in the rear.The drop down back window is very useful spares easy to get spares for even in Perth, Australia!


Bad Points

Not many .....probably a little slow for my liking
It likes a drink (maybe needs a service)

Work I've had to do in two yrs
2 batteries probably originals and a little tired.
Front pads shocks all round others were tired column switch apparently a common problem.
A cracked exhaust manifold - (I think after the day I roasted it getting bogged down)
Back window rubber seal wrapping itself up when window went up and down.

Other minor faults but overall good


General Comments

I bought a Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-G 3.0TD in Australia having moved from Scotland .It was bought as a stop-gap between cars until we settled in and I have had it for two years and am still not looking to replace it!

I have kicked its teeth in since I got it I have bogged it in sand carried camping gear and canoes towed trailers with cars on the back. I've overheated it and generally ignored it and how did it pay me back? By keeping on going.

I am not a fan but if I'm honest, its been the most reliable car I've had since a SWB 2.8 TD isuzu trooper .
