Good Points

the shape and styling of the guitar are quite nice. Thats about it.


Bad Points

the gold plating wears off within months. The tuners, despite being branded grover (i highly doubt they are actual grovers) never stay in tune. The pickups sound dull and dreary, with little tone and even less on the higher notes. the pickup selector makes a huge buzz when you switch it while plugged in. the build quality is awful, made in korea.


General Comments

I use this mainly through a wem clubman- a great little amp. It was so awful that i completely re fitted it with everything new. I replaced the out of place v plate with a bigsby trem, and fitted a roller bridge. The pickups were changed with a tony iommi gibson custom wound in the neck and a seymour duncan zebra coil 58 in the bridge. I also fitted locking groer tuners. All of the poorly gold plated features were replaced with chrome, and i put in an actual gibson pickup selector. Now the guitar sounds and looks fantastic. Its one of my favourite guitars. But if you're not looking to spend '£250 refitting this guitar, i would suggest you look elsewhere. The rule of bad build quality generally goes for all epiphones of this price range. Look at Samick Gregg Bennett guitars. They are the same price, have pickups designed by seymour duncan, real grover tuners and are built really nice, generally are real quality guitars.
