Comfy. Good fuel consumption.
Bad Points
Fuel leaks into sump. Plastic gear drive to oil pump. Gear then fails. Wrecks engine. 4000miles!
General Comments
What can I say? It's great to have an Aprilia Atlantic, but the bad points take over. A real shame!

Fuel in the oil is a problem that can be sorted. Also remember the problem does not afflict all Atlantics, and the odd Piaggio X9 500 and Gilera Nexus are affected as well.
First thing to do is replace the thermostat with a later version, this allows the engine to run at a higher temperature. The trouble is with a lower temp thermostat the fuel injection system thinks the engine is too cold and so the bike is permanently on choke.
The next stage is to get the ECU re-mapped with a later tune so enabling the engine to run a little leaner. Please note however this can't be done with very early bikes.
Your problem should now be sorted.
I had the same problem with me bike, but with a little research I was able to sort my bike out and now I'm very happy with my Atlantic.
