Lovely looking store.
Customer Service.
I was after a Archos Docking Station as part of my husband's Christmas gift, we checked availability on the net and were directed to the Currys. When we got there, the assistant we spoke to said the information on the net was wrong and that he had checked 3 days before for the whole of Birmingham with little success.
Even when we told him that the Internet showed availability there, it was dismissed, and we were told that they hadn't any in for months, even though they had a dummy in store!
The following day again, we checked the internet and it still showed availability, so this time we rang the freephone number and found that there were 5 available at the Currys store in the Bull Ring, Birmingham. We explained our experience and asked the lady to double check, as we didn't want to make a wasted trip to Birmingham! Not only were they in stock she said, but she was going to reserve one for us, and promptly gave us a reference number.
When we got there, admittedly, they had problems locating the stock, but in fairness to them, they did not give up or try to put us off as the other store did, they apologised and asked us to wait. The assistant and the Manager with whom we came in contact with were so helpful. They really saved the day - they even looked up the other Curry stores to see if they were showing availability - just in case they were still unable to locate the docking station - not like the assistant at the other store who made us feel like they just wanted to get rid of us!
The Manager even said, "I don't want you going away with a bad impression of us. If we say we have it then we do, we just have to locate it". And she did. Perhaps the Currys store on the Stratford Road could do with some lessons from the Bull Ring, after all there is no point in having such a lovely looking building but employing people who have no interest in helping their customers.
