Good Points
Does a very good job of finding viruses & malware. Catches the vast majority of the bad stuff out there. Fairly Simple to set up & use. Has Real time protection & does alert you to possible threats as it dicors them in real time.

Bad Points
Slow loading at start up Auto updates limited to once per day with free edition does miss some things occasionally that I have found by using an online scan such as Trend micro house call Slow scanning times.

General Comments
Overall AVG puts out a very good program for free Not as good as a paid for version like Kapersky. It is fairly easy on system resources & adequate for the average home user.
