Good Points

Great construction. Has a solid heft to it. Seems very accurate out of the box. Lots of power. Great components

Bad Points

Pistol grip seems a little small in my hand. Single shot.

General Comments

I really am enjoying this Benjamin Crosman EB17 Co2 Pistol. I think it is great for shooting at a casual pace. I really like the construction and it seems very accurate. It is powerfull and however,it likes to eat c02. I would say you start loosing power after about 25-30 shots. If you don't mind single shot, this is a great choice. When I was shopping around, I was turned off by the fact that I would have to reload everytime, however I decided I would sacrifice that for power, and I am glad I did. You can hit something at 50 yards with no drop off.

There are so few of us who appreciate and use the Benjamin/Sheridan EB 17, 20 and 22 that we should perhaps form an appreciation society - for chosen members of course !

    Our own website ?

Hi Boris.....got myself an EB 17 last week. It's a bit more powerful than my Makarov and 6" Smith!

I note your observations on the Gamo 4.5 Rounds in another place and I'll certainly give them a try. Good shooting friend.

I liked the EB 20 but I find the EB 17 more useful - you have such a wide choice of ammo from very light Prometheus, both wadcutter and pointed, Gamo rounds to heavy weight field target pellets.

The sights irritate me, they are just too tall. I normally file 2 to 3 mm off the front sight, and the same from the back reshaping the notch too, and of course shortening the height.adjuster screw.

I have a pair of Benjamin pro blocks (ex JSR) and use a 1.5X pistol scope or a Webley Aimpoint red dot (no batteries needed). They work well but the lowered iron sights are more satisfying.

Must consider an EB site - my (fairly) local gunsmith sells out of EB's very quickly, usually he says to "experienced" (he spells it OLD) shooters. I am in West Lancashire if that has any bearing on EB sales ?

Keep shooting Bertie - Nil Carborundum etc

The intermounts are rubbish, wouldn't recommend them! They slide up and down the barrel, even when tightened properly of course. My local gunsmith said the only way was to super glue them to the barrel!!! I got a refund and use open sights. Are there any decent mounts out there?

Dave - the answer is "No!"

If I had the courage/skill I would remove the rear sight and replace it with something more solid - even it was non adjustable - using the originalhole ( Crosman 2240 block ?) fixed to zero at say 8m approx 25 ft
