Good Points

Quality is outstanding, workmanship is excellent, silver finish is top notch. Intonation is very good, playability is also very good, (although, if you have never played a piccolo before, you may be dismayed at how poorly ANY piccolo trumpet sounds, untill you get the hang of it.) and the tone is clear, clean, and bright. Unlike smaller bore instruments, this horn is not easily overblown. The price was perfect.

Bad Points

I had to pay extra for the case, I don't know if this is standard practice. The mouthpiece that comes with it is a run of the mill piece, ( I bought a Schilke 14a4a). No pinky ring.

General Comments

Here's the fine point, if your are serious about getting a piccolo trumpet, if this is your first piccolo trumpet, or you are budget-minded, then this is THE horn for you. While other horns have more prestige, (and higher price!) the Kanstul line is the only viable alternative to waiting, or paying more, and it's reputation is quickly gaining in prestige. Horn players know the good horns, and Kanstul has a stellar reputation.
