Good Points

Brilliant little scooter for those new to the ways of the road, reliable, fuel efficient, uses very little oil, looks very funky and the fully digital dashboard is a cool bonus.

Bad Points

There's not much in the weather protection department because of lack of fairing, no helmet storage unless you have a D-link helmet and are willing to return to a very cold and wet helmet if it's been raining (though a top box solves this problem) and the little "glove" box cleverly concealed below the left handlebar isn't even big enough for one glove!

General Comments

This Gilera ICE was my first bike so for that alone, I could never hate it. I owned it for a year before moving up to a geared 125 and in that time it never let me down once. I even took it touring a few times with no problems at all, the longest trip being an epic 500 mile journey to Land's End and back.

Scooters make mince meat of traffic, and this one's no exception. Filtering is a piece of cake on a machine this size. The only disadvantage is being a 50cc, it doesn't have a huge amount of power which can be a problem if you get into a sticky situation.

Overall it's a great scooter to ride, but a top box is an essential extra if you want to easily carry anything bigger than a packet of crisps.
