Does exactly what it says on the box, at a very good price.

General Comments
According to Windows, this is actually an NEC NR-7700A drive
At the time of purchase, this was possibly the cheapest "Burnproof" drives- mine cost £100 including VAT and delivery from dabs.com
It seems to work pretty well, and the write speed seems fast. To be honest, my PC (a 1997 vintage Pentium 166) cannot keep up so it has yet to show it's true colours
I had no trouble copying data CDs, audio CDs or writing data to CDs. On a single occasion, an audio CD I burnt at 12x had pops on it, so it's not infallible, but if used in a half-decent PC, there should be no problem. I had no more problems now I've turned the write speed down a bit.

In September 2001 I bought myself a CDWriter, the Freecom Classic 12x10x32 ATAPI drive. It was a complete bargain. A 12x burnproof drive for under £90, a very good deal at the time.
