Good Points

um... It's heavier, I guess... writing for themselves... Rob Trujillo

Bad Points

stupid, down tuned guitars, overall horrid pop production feel, no solos, etc.

General Comments

Oy. I expect more from pioneers. To make a long review short, the Metallica crew decided to "write for themselves." James Hetfield stated that there are "no songs for chicks." Sorry dude, there aren't any songs for guys, either. Plain and simple, this album doesn't deliver. At all. Rob Trujillo's a great bassist, a big step over Jason Newsted, but still can't touch Cliff Burton. Then again, no one can. And what is this horsefeathers about no solos? "They don't go with the songs." I was thinking up solos in my head that went along with the riffs in these songs. That, and the snare drum sounds like poo.

What the heck happened?

This guy new bassist is nothing compared to Jason. How can you tell me you don't like anything metallica has to give?

You said in the good points of the Metallica St. Anger album"...Rob Trujilo"; I am not sure if you realised, but he joined the band after the completion of the album, and had nothing to do with St. Anger.
