Good Points

Got a Beeman 2006 model. It's the same thing. Very accurate. Will easily hold the 9 ring or better on the standard ISU 10 meter air pistol target. Workable trigger considering the price. Ergonomics are excellent. Sight picture is quite acceptable for 10 meter shooting. Good velocity for a single stroke pneumatic powerplant of this size. Shot to shot consistency is very good.

Bad Points

The included red dot sight is horrific. Took it off immediately. Barrel had a lot of rust and crud in it. Cleaned it thoroughly before using it for the first time. Also cleaned out all the excess grease from the pump mechanism and relubed the o-rings with Crosman pelgun oil. Trigger adjustment screw doesn't seem to do anything. Instructions are horrible. Both the Beeman web site and the Marksman web site do not even show this pistol. Auto safety is a pain--and, as others have mentioned, located on the wrong side. If it was on the right side of the gun, you could use your trigger finger to release it.--Assuming you're a right-handed shooter. Sight elevation screw loosened after approx 30 shots.

General Comments

I'm an ex-precision shooter and a mechanic so there's your warning. This is only a $50 air gun. I filled my gas tank last night and it was $37. So there you go. There is a lot of good here for $50. If you are fairly mechanically inclined and have done some shooting before, you could do a lot worse. I went into this knowing what everyone was saying, so I assumed I'd save a ton of money (compared to a Weihrauch/Beeman P3) but I'd have to do a bit of work to fine tune what they didn't do correctly at the factory in China. I found a schematic on-line and found that helpful. The sight screws need a dab of loctite to stay secure. Beeman could spec a nyloc fastener, but hey it's built to hit a price point. My pistol seems to be shooting best with Crosman premier competition wadcutters and H&N match wadcutters. A $40 Tasco red dot with integral .22 dovetail mount would not be a crazy upgrade purchase if you like optical sights. This pistol shoots about as well as a Gamo Compact pistol out of the box. I'd be curious if anyone has re-crowned their barrel?
