The Daisy Model 901 Powerline has been very accurate for a couple of months. Shoots where you point it with a scope and only have to cock it 5 times. Very light and easy to cock. Nice looks with the black theme. Good feature is to only cock it as many times as you want to. For indoor or outdoor.
The Daisy Model 901 Powerline - Bad Points - Plastic dovetail optics mount. You have to make sure you do not over tighten the mounting screws of a scope.
After two months, 3000 rounds fired and regular maintenance according to the factory manual the Daisy 901 blew a gasket. I have never pumped up the rifle more than 10 times and usually just pump it up 5 times for shooting at a paper plate target at about 20 yards.
If you pump it up now, and hold it to your ear, your will hear the air escaping from it. I tried taking it apart and oiling it. It will not hold the air pressure any more. So the life span of the "O-ring" for the Daisy 901 is about two months or 2 or 3 thousand shots in my experience.
The Daisy Model 901 Powerline - I really liked this bb/pellet gun when I first got it. I found out shortly the bbs dont go where you point at, so I switched to pellets. I was just amazed at the accuracy of the gun at 20 and 30 yards. Just using 5 pumps keeps the pellet in one inch groups. Then the gun just
quit working properly after a couple of months. I had to adjust the scope up about 10 clicks and it would not even go through the bottom of a soda can. I started hearing air leakage from the gun when I would hold it up to shoot it. That normally means a pneumatic air gun needs a little oil to seal it. Well, it did not work. I even took it apart and applied oil to all of the internal parts. It did not work, it still leaks. I never abused this gun and always performed the proper maintenance. In my opinion the seals just gave up after two months. I have a Daisy Pistol 747 that when you cock it, you can see the "O-ring" and oil it. After oiling, the air leakage goes away and you can shoot another 500 rounds. The Daisy 901 has all of the internal components sealed and you cannot place oil over the "O-ring".
I personally do not recommend the Daisy 901. I just purchased a Daisy 953 which will be arriving tomorrow and I will test it and get back with you.
