I had a bad experience in the initial start of my credit establishment. My ex husband took my credit cards (3 of them) and maxed them out, and left me the card holder responsible for thousands upon thousands owing in debt. I recently paid off (settled) with the collection agency about 8 months ago, and asked for a credit history and rating from Equifax. Obviously, the results were not good. Capitol One gave me a second chance to rebuild my credit. I give them the most respect for giving an honest person like myself the chance to start over.
