A little heavy and the break is a little tough. It took time for me to get used to it.
I think that the Gamo Hunter Extreme has good quality of build and it is accurate and powerful. I started off with a Gamo 220 combo .177. For many years it has been very reliable. I have just recently received this Hunter Extreme. The first shot was all what I had expected from this air rifle. Great power and with the 9-10 lbs weight that helped out with keeping the extreme stable. After sighting in the scope at 25yds it was really accurate and all the shots were consistently within the 1.5" diameter target. The mill dot scope with illumination works good. My pellets were 7.9grm wadcutter premiums from Crosman. These worked well. I inserted a Gamo raptor (provided with the purchase) and the crack was, I would say just like a 22LR. The accuracy was the same as lead, and about 25%-50% louder than lead pellets. Not sure of the increase in velocity, but it sounded like it hit a lot harder. The trigger pull is much better than my 220 combo but I am still going to replace both riffles with a trigger in the New Year. I didn't find the pull to be that hard or long. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and with upcoming upgrades, this will become even better. The breaking at first was not very smooth, but over time it broke cleaner. Still takes a good arm to break the extreme, but I knew that when I bought it.
