Bad Points

AA Car Insurance won't pick you up after an accident only the car.
Outsource claims to NIG.
Won't discuss the claim as they only take the payment.
Value the car by glasses guide trade price minus the amount of faults they can find in it.
Take weeks to write to you.
Won't acknowledge any form of written communication.
I feel they bully you and argue that they are right and nothing reasonable will be offered.
I feel they are not interested in anything you have to say.

General Comments

We put in a claim to the AA after a tree fell in front of the car in high winds, an accident that was completely out of my control. The damage to the car meant that the car was written off. Initially they were going to leave me stranded an hour and a quarters drive away from home, on a winter evening in the middle of the countryside - quite a scary position for a female driver to be in. After a forceful argument they eventually picked up both the car and myself - I had no other means of transport.

We have had to get a loan to buy another car as it has been over 2 weeks since the claim process started and they have told us we have to wait 7 to 10 working days for them to revalue the engineers report.

The car was deemed a total loss after they took its trade value from glasses guide and deducted 600 for 1" of paint blistering on the roof and ficticious parking damage to the rear. They argue the alloy wheels are damaged yet do not pay to replace anything like this fitted even though they are included on the policy. We still haven't seen the valuation report. Most 7 year old cars will have some minor marks from stone chips, car parks and other small issues.

We've been paying the AA for over three years and that was for cover up to 3700 as the car is very limited. We have found similar replacements on the web from 2500 to 3000 yet they argue that they are not obliged to pay out for a replacement value, only for their own judgement and disputing it will only delay your claim for 7 to 10 working days.
