I have had a mortgage with Birmingham Midshires for 5 years. I am now due to re-mortgage and have been told that I cannot apply for any of the rates advertised on their askbm.co.uk site as they are only for new customers. Existing customers who wish to remain loyal to BM only get offered much much higher rates. As such I am moving my mortgage to another lender with significantly better rates. Obviously loyalty counts for nothing to BM. I would not recommend them at all. I would not recommend Birmingham Midshires at all.
