General Comments

I have had my LX50 for 2+ years and have clocked up just a shade over 10000km. Its such a joy to ride every day, costs a meisley £7 per week to fill up and this beats London transport costs hands down. During winter it can be a little cold to ride (especially the finger tips - buy some good gloves), but the thrill of driving a genuine Vespa is always worth the sacrifice. Its a great city commuter for people traveling less than 100-150 km per week. If you are going to travel further and on faster roads buy a 125+.
But for inner city commuting and the ease of taking a pillion passenger at will on a full UK car drivers license (must have been awarded the license before 2001) you just can't beat the trusty Vespa.
My Vespa is now getting a bit rattly (from the air cooler) and noisy (from the aging muffler), but the engine hasn't missed a beat and performs really well once its up to temperature. The engine is a tad 'Italian' first thing on a cold morning and takes a little coxing to fire up and it leaves a good plume of smoke for the first 500m, but after that its as good as gold. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone and in todays high oil price times I can't see myself ever going back to a car ever again.
