Piaggio X9 500 Review

Good Points
Very good engine.(fast). easy to ride,good weather protection,good economy (70mpg). good brakes.Smooth ride. Bought new 2002 and covered 10,000 miles in 18 months. Can cover long distances easily and when you arrive you can store helmet and outer clothing under seat.

Bad Points
Automatic stand can hit oil filter (listen for metallic knock when pushing off stand) there is a rubber bung which wears.Stand then hits oil filter,mine did and dropped its oil.Servicing frequent and expensive. Tyres expensive considering small amount of rubber involved,and they soon wear out.

General Comments
Mine also developed an annoying clicking from front disc when braking ,a caliper and disc were eventually replaced under warranty,after several complaints to dealer. It is very fast for a scooter and you can get a bit carried away keeping up with bikes,until you get to corners,when you can be caught out. I could have done without,radio communication system,electro/ hydraulic stand,phone charger,computer etcetera. It still would have been a very good scooter and the price could have been reduced.
