Good Points

Good solid build, fair fuel economy.


Bad Points

Very poor local Stafford dealership, expensive service cost, very rude and lack of technical support when needed. Had miss fire and lack of power from day one but Stafford main vw dealer could not and were not able to trace the fault took the car back on numerace occasions. I hope I never have to deal with Stafford vw again in my life.


General Comments

I still own my mkiv vw golf I've just had to have new camshaft nearly 1000 no support from vw what so ever log the fault on the car from new Stafford vw could not trace it as they only have technicians that plug and play i.e if laptop doesn't tell them what is wrong they don't know what to look for. Took the car back 5 times no fault found. Ended up taking the car to Stafford audi who diagnosed straight away contacted vw Stafford and UK warranty avail they just didn't want to know, I ended up paying for it out of my own pocket. Lesson learnt buying audi

    I have owned 2 Golf mk4's; both bought from Stafford Volkswagen. The first I picked up was 6 months old, and I had a few minor problems with it like any car. All problems were dealt with politely and quickly. The second I bought for the misses. 8 months after I bought it the oil lift pump packed in, causing massive damage to the engine. They dealt with the problem very quickly and professionally, and replaced the engine under warranty. I am very happy with the service I have received from Stafford VW. I have just recommended them to my brother in law, and he has just purchased a 53 plate Golf mk 4 which I know he is very happy with. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends.
