I have given a 10 as i have 5 283+one 285 and i don,t know anything past or present to replace them any short comings is over come with a accessory. power full... ok GN of 36 may not sound much but remember its at 35mm cover ridge take say canon EX558 with Gn of 58 BUT only when zoomed at to 105mm zoom back to 35mm and GN is the same. Very cheep very very well made (i have had them apart) i like the 283 over the 285 as the head is much better to velcro light modifiers etc to it. Little known) is the 283 has i bit more power as the 285 GN is given with the head zoomed out to 50mm so will be less zoomed back to mach the 283 plenty of kit on ebay
Bad Points
Bad points errm................yes early (made in japan) have 250V trigger volts but can be a advantage when used of camera as optical slaves seam to work better.
General Comments
Cheap very well made very good auto exposure.
