peter wellum's Review of Tefal Clipso Vitamins 6l Pressure Cooker
8th Dec 2007
Overall Rating
- Value for money

It's good quality stainless steel and very simple to use. The pressure relief / locking device is foolproof. One can use quite small amounts of water if using the trivet to cook veg. I am extremely pleased with it so far.
Bad Points
It is easy to over-pressure the cooker when starting to use it for the first time, resulting in water and steam leaking from the lid seal. This is part of the safety system but it can be quite disconcerting.
General Comments
One must make sure the relief valve is working okay and not blocked. When using for the first time the valve should be given a bit of a jiggle just to make sure there's no bits, left over from its manufacture, blocking the valve. It should hiss a fair bit shortly after the red locking device lifts up to prevent opening while it's still under pressure. It's really important to check it continuously when starting out. Subsequently, it's child's play.
