I can only think of two good points for this piece of kit and they are quite lame. I'd have to say convenience of having several exercises all integrated into one machine , and safety would be another factor.
I have several issues with this unit hence me selling mine or taking it to the dump. It says it has 91kg of resistance but that is only available on a few lower pulley exercises. So exercises like Lat pulldowns can only be done with 45K max. Also this machine only really offers friction rather than weight as a resistance. If you try the same weight on a decent machine in the gym you will notice it's smooth rather than sticky, and you know the weight is fighting gravity eager to go back to it's resting position. Oh and did I mention that when you use more that 5 of the 10 plates on the lower row the machine tilts, and it's quite similiar on the leg extension.
Having had the York Multi-Gym for 3 years it's time to move on for me. I have got to the stage I only use the upper pulley exercises and leg extension occasionally. In hindsight I wish I had put my money into the decent bench, power rack and olympic weights I have now.
Let's face it just look at fitness web sites, you can't buy decent single exercise machines as cheap as this unit and that should have been the pointer for me.
