The Alfagar apartments were beautiful and well maintained. Very large complex with three pools catering for all ages. Staff were friendly. The weather was perfect sunshine for two weeks. View from the apartment was greenery and sea it was beautiful.
Bad Points
Every night had to kill baby cockroaches in the bathroom until I plugged up the sink. The restaurant is quite expensive one meal cost 90 euros (for 4 people and 1 infant). Cafe is cheaper but still expensive for my budget. Drinks are also expensive. Albuferia has building work going on all the time. Apartments were being built next to the Alfagar Apartments. The building work isnt a problem because you can't hear anything but Albuferia's beauty will eventually be lost among high raised apartments and hotels its a real shame. Very expensive to use the phone at the apartment 5 mins cost 10 euros.
General Comments
Alfagar apartments don't cater for childrens evening entertainment and not really for adults entertainment except for Karaoke at the weekend O.K if your into that sort of thing.
The strip which is where the nearest night life is based is a jazzed up Blackpool.
Once you had been into one shop you've been to all.
The food wasn't very interesting and the same food sold everywhere.
Having said all this I did enjoy my holiday because it was a break and the sun shone all day.
I wouldn't go back to Albaferia because there are too many building sites where ever you look. The Santa Eulia beach has steps but very dangerous for small children best off walking the long way round as this is much safer. Water is very cold because its the Atlantic ocean and full of sea weed. Best of heading down to Maria Luisa Beach much cleaner, cleaner still is Vilamoura beach they even provide ashtrays to prevent smokers from sticking cigs in the sand.
Don't let what I've said put you off there are always bad points to any holiday no matter how small.
