a bit boring if you go on a weekend (i dont know if it gets any better on weekdays)

General Comments
I went to bloemfontein in South Africa to see Tolkien's birthplace. unfortunately, it is not sign-posted, and the places which are supposed to be tourist info centres, are not, so i did not get to see where Tolkien was born. also, my girlfriend and i were there for the weekend - and we didnt realise that the entire city (apart from the shopping area by the canal) shuts down at 12pm on saturday. despite the fact that we were a bit bored, bloemfontein does have some of the best pizza shops that i've ever been to - prices are very reasonable, and the pizzas are very very very tasty.
