Good Points

Sorry this gun is bad, i can't find any good points

Bad Points

Noise, vibrations, not punchy at all, a good gun to shoot at the fun-fair, nothing more

General Comments

I tried the Gamo CF-30 Air Rifle last week, and i was very disapointed after reading good reviews on the net, it's not because you're owning one that you must tell lulabies. This gun is poor, of course it's a lower cost, but it's not a reason to buy it, the spring noise when shooting is enough for me, to make me prefer my worst slingshot instead.
Do not cash money on it, save it for A BSA, RWS or new Browning (See my review for the Vectis).
I write this bad review 'cos i don't want anybody to waste his hard earned cash, not to do wrong to GAMO, maybe they have better models?

    CF 30
You will never see a fixed barrel airgun like this, that can be cooked once, and still deliver 950 ft/s (280 m/s) !!

SUPERKODIAK......The above was pasted from a Gamo website. You see, it has to go in with the Sunday roast (but only once).
No wonder you are unhappy with the gun!!

SUPERKODIAK - The above ( pasted from a Gamo website) is the explanation for your dissatisfaction with your gun.

I see why you have a negitive one on respect. This is a nice gun the only complant I would have is it is hard to load.

    Fasten youre seatbelts!!!!!
I have a .22 and it was noisy with a lot of recoil.

As D.I.Y is in my blood i openend the gun and made some adjustments.

Don't laugh it really work out fine.
I used heavy outdoor tape. Yes read it again.
    This what i did;
First i cleaned the gun inside.
Then i put the heavy tape around te rear and front springguide and turned / screwed into the spring.
The heavy frontspringguide moves around in the piston very easy so i taped this to get a tide fit there also.
The spring and guides are now fully under control.
After this i greased the spring and the trigger with black molycote.
Also loosend the trigger and put the gun together again.
Shooting without a scope gives very good results at 10 meters but with a Webley scope from my Hurricane 2,5x15 even my daughters 7 and son of 9 hit the bulls eye hole in hole time after time.
The Barrel rests at a ladder with a cloth between it.
No state of the art tune and still lasts over 2500 rounds.
The noise is a nice plock and the recoil speaks for it self having the childeren have a go. I learned to put the gun good in the shoulder, look for the target, put the finger on the trigger, move it allready a bit and when everything is well, have a smooth but steady pull only by the finger. And don't look away when pulling.
I was really happy when it was the result in there first shoot with gun.

I can explain this also having a chinese QB51 which is very accurate having no recoil at 10 meters and very silent too.
The rear springguide moves over the front springguide which is part of the piston.
My next step wil be a hunter 1250 spring in both and see what happens. (16 euro)
Will it damage my beloved gun I buy a new one for 168 euro and learned my lesson.
    Try this with a TX200 or HK97?
These guys wanting to sell to buy a PCP-gun
have a hard time getting there money back.
With the hunting 1250 spring i will be very happy reaching about 950 fps for such little money.

For a good DIY springcompressor see
    http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2006/07/spring-gun-tuning-part-5powerplant.html

    mine costed 10 euro.

I know a real pro will need a basket now but i have really fun for very little money and can easily buy/try something else.

    Cheers
