Guest's review of Mossberg 835 Multi Mag-Pump Action

★★☆☆☆

“My 835 would not cycle 2nd shell after initial shot...”

Written on: 30/11/2007

Good Points
Low Cost. Ported barrel Location of safety.

Bad Points
Lacking in the area of quality control.

General Comments
My 835 would not cycle 2nd shell after initial shot due to poor craftsmanship of several internal parts. It required minor resurfacing of a couple of contact areas with a dremel tool to solve the feeding issues. It appears to now function as designed but certainly cost me.

not for nothing, but what shells were you using? i have both the 835 ultimag and a maverick arms model 88 (mossberg 500) and neither of them will shoot winchester game loads (2 3/4" - 3 1/4 dram eq. - 1 oz - # 8). the shell casings are too thin and buldge in a pump gun enough to lock the shell in the chamber and jam the hell out of the action. so in short, may not be the gun, could've been the ammo...
