I found that the CX300 has a very nice sound with very good highs and mids, and more than adequate bass, although, not what my friend Justin likes to call "Boomy". The CX300 have a very aesthetically pleasing construction, and have a long enough cable to be able to put them in a pocket, on a table, or hold them at arms length, without being too long and dragging or catching on everything. The CX300 are also good at shutting out extra noise, and therefore are good for travel too.
The CX300 have a couple of problems that can usually be worked around, the first being that since it is not an exclusive design, there are a lot of fakes on the market, so you are taking a chance if you order from unsure sources, like ebay. To make sure that your CX300 are real. The other problem I had with the CX300 was that they had an unpleasant habit of shocking me through a small metal ring on the earphones. I generally use my CX300 with my 30GB Ipod Video, which i used to keep in a protective "skin" and I discovered that the cause was built up static electricity in the Ipod and phones. Since making my discovery, I have taken to carrying my Ipod in my hand without the skin, and have not had any problems since.
I am very happy with my CX300 and think that they are a great pair of canal phones.
