Good Points
Cheap to buy new. Cheap to run. Goes forever on a tank of fuel. Build quality not a problem unlike some reviewers suggestions. Real head turner. Cuts through traffic a treat on city roads. Many performance parts available on internet. Rear hugger keeps it clean in the wet.
Bad Points
High insurance for size and cost of bike. No fifth gear which it sorely needs. Incorrectly geared by manufacturer. No fuel gauge/low level indicator. High seat for bike this size. Small dealer network.
General Comments
Sachs Madass 125 is a brilliant fun first bike with radical minimalist design. Miles more going for it than most plastic fantastic scooters. Cheap to buy new too. Incorrect gearing can be made much better by replacing 16 tooth front sprocket with 18 tooth equivalent. This makes all four gears much taller without loss of acceleration and increases top speed to 65mph but a fifth gear would have been nicer.
