General Comments

I work at Phones4u, so I tend to try out many new handsets. At first sight, this handset didn't look as nice as the Samsung T100. The T100 has a much nicer shape, the external screen is nice and the keypad looks more stylish. The Motorola T720i on the other hand looks very basic. Even the old A300 is a bit more up to date with style. Apart from that, the phone has a nice 'feel' to it, not as uncomfortable as other phones of the same design. It's not too light, which is a good thing, or it gives the phone a 'cheap' and 'empty' feeling.

I turned it on and... hey it's a colour screen. More crisp clear than the T100 aswell. I knew that this particular phone and the Samsung T100 were going to end up in a war on the shop shelves. The windows-like menu system also made the T100 look like ancient history. Hang on - what's this? A camera attachment I believed and I was right. The great thing about this one is that it rotates 180 degrees, so that you could literally use the phone as a mirror - the main advantage over phones which have the camera built in. (eg. 7250, GX10, GD87)

Enhanced messaging service as well as a loud-speaker. The polyphonic ringtones sound much better than those horrible beep-beep ones. Things moving on you screen go smoothly, and dont jerk like the 3510i. Texting is quite simple, just like any other phone. 32 ringtones built in to the phone (twice as much as the T100's 16) as well a 32 spaces for more.

Overall, I think this phone is the winner of the two, as the T100 has no camera attachment and no-where near the amount of features. I do think that Motorola should have paid a bit more attention to the design of the phone though.
