Good Points

The SV1000S`is a very nice, streetable sport bike. Unlike most supersports, This bike has a good midrange and a nicely spaced transmission. Handling is good and stable, but needs different tires and suspension tuning to realize handling potential.

Bad Points

Steering feels stiff - under-steer. Does not have nice neutral feeling. Hopefully better rubber and suspension tuning will resolve some of this.
Speaking of tires, the Pilot Powers are really rubbish for serious sport riding, to the point of dangerous! Good for casual riding/sport tour.
Mirrors are rubbish unless you have very narrow shoulders or are less then 5 feet tall.
Disappointing gas mileage at 35 mph.

General Comments

I've had my Suzuki SV1000S 05 for several months now. The SV is what biking is all about, fun. It puts a smile on my face every time i'm on it.
Defiantly doesn't have the great engine of my old ZRX1200, but very usable and surprisingly revy for a twin. Along with a nice engine, it has an awesome, practically spaced transmission unlike the track-inspired trannies on almost all supersports.
Mine has Leo Vince cans (nice sound!), but has yet to be tuned in removing intake snorkle has helped.
I got HELI bars right off and I can't rave enough about them. Much more comfortable no more numb hands! Raises bars only 3/4 inch by forks, but 2 inches at bar end - and back a little as well. Still sporty without the race-ready angle that makes supersport clipons so uncomfortable.
This is a good bike with great potential and a real bargain. A few upgrades and tweaking and you'll have a bike that can give most any bike a run for the money.
