Good Points

Matina Apartments (Pefkos). The staff are warm friendly and eager to help. Excellent for sun worshippers and all those who regularly holiday on the Greek Islands. It is the best accommodation in Greece I have visited.


Bad Points

The Greek House Restaurant (Pefkos). It is the only time I have been insulted in Greece. The management is the most untypical of Greek hospitality I have ever experienced. The owner cannot gather a smile for his customers and is known to swear, in Greek, at guests.


General Comments

I enjoyed many of the tavernas in Pefkos. Particularly the Enigma and Nostalgia. Both served food and wine of high quality in an unrushed fashion. Enigma specialised in a seafood salad starter which is among the best I have ever tasted.

    We visited Pefkos during September 2003, staying at the Matina Apartments. We had the best food and service at the Greek House, George and his wife were great hosts and served outstanding food. We would not have asked for better service, and consequently dined there for most of the 2 weeks. We are looking forward to visiting again in June of this year and hope that the restaurant has not changed hands.

    The Matina Apartments were very clean and comfortable and so close to the beach I would thoroughly recommend a stay there.
