Bad Points

The rear tailgate doesn't have a separate lock and I know this is silly but when you have a hard top fitted you want to secure the rear section.

Rear leg room is limited, fine for running round but not a joy if your doing long journey stuff, the center console has a rubbish finish and where my elbow sits, has worn the finish off (not major but it is a cosmetic thing when you have to stare at it all day.

The front suspension needs greased at every 6000 miles if it's not then the bump will creak on full lock when on a uneven surface, not major but well worth telling the mechanic about it. (more of a pet hate really as it does no damage whatsoever)

General Comments

I have a ltd. edition Rally Raid Nissan Navara , in black with silver decals.
It is an amazing truck with 179BHP at it's mercy.
It has really good road holding and cornering ability but the Rally Raid has a completely different and uprated suspension with a stiffer and stronger chassis (nearly 1/4 ton heavier than standard)
It has a really good seating position.
The acceleration is good right through the gears.
It handles a ton in the payload without any problems and it tows with ease, you won't even know there's anything attached.

The truck has a friendly smooth appearance unlike it's contenders like the warrior who seemed to 'stick' bits on as an after thought.
The fuel consumption isn't bad either with averaging 27-29 combined and 31-33 on the motorway, ain't bad for nearly 3 ton of truck.

The layout of the cab is brilliant and it just keeps going, there were issues with con-rods going but what you will find is that those people are driving them like reps cars, it's not a family saloon, when starting in the morning I let mine run for 2 minutes to warm up and prepare itself, when shutting down I let it idle for the same time. Seems to work for me no problem, I'd recommend the Navara to anyone.

The stereo is above average compared to what I've heard coming out of standard stock cars but I've heard better to, but for a supposed own brand it's more than adequate, there sa 6 disc changer bult in below the stereo unit and there plenty storage space too, with a a large glove box and deep door bins. The center console is basic but provides tardis like space and also exposes another 2 drinks holders for the passengers in the rear.
The payload is good with nice wide clearance and plenty of room for a standard pallet to fit, I have a snug top fitted and a load liner which also helps and comes in real handy with the dog.
The paint work is good with a nice smooth finish and is standing the pressures of me taking it off road no problem, I do a lot of shooting so it's off road and scratches just polish out no problem leaving no trace. It's a great commuter which does command the respect of other road users and it just gets notice where ever you go.
I'd hope to have this vehicle for as long as I can keep it going, in my last job a lot of business owners opted for the D40 shape and they all wished they'd kept a hold of the D22, the new one has issues with the engine and the steering lock is horrendous, don't attempt a 3 point turn and expect to get round in a hurry.

Nothing much else to say other than if your needing a good reliable larger than average car which drives like a micra then what you waiting for.
