General Comments

The best thing about the Dell Dimension 2350 computer is without doubt the excellent 17" flat screen monitor & the overall appearence of the package.
The Harman Kardon speakers are also very good.
Unfortunately the software for the DVD burner which is supplied with all Dell computers don"t do the computer justice.
The Roxio is OK at recording a whole DVD & picture quality is good but trying to edit using this programme is useless.
Also supplied with the Dell is the dire Sonic "My DVD".
This is absolutely useless, 75% of the time you will get "DISC ERROR" on your monitor, & it won't do the easiest of tasks such as recording still photographs.
On the rear of the Dell there are absolutely no input or outputs apart from the USB ports, when paying over 1000 pounds you expect something.
The Dell could be half decent if supplied with some decent DVD software and some input/outputs such as scart, phonos, S-VHS, & digital in/out which come as standard on Time & Sony computers.

Seems the above two reviews, answer a few questions I had about the Dell range.

Firstly, "All that glitters is not gold" ....?

I keep getting emails from Dell, offering what appears to be a GREAT BARGAIN, but when you click through to their web site, you find that the PC they hooked you in with, in the email, is basically 'Not All There'!

The price quoted is never the same, and if you require any decent components in your PC, you have to add them on as EXTRAS ....... even a Floppy Drive! Which only makes their supposedly Great Specked machine ...... not so GREAT!

The other question these guys have answered for me is the main components are DELL ONLY ..... i.e., the motherboard is made for Dell only, which means that adding extras to your PC, as you might do with other manufactures PC's is a definite No-No! Why do they do it in this modern day and age!

I almost bought a Dell ........ I've now changed my mind and will be taking my money elsewhere.

    Thanks for the help.
