General Comments
After numerous "trigger jobs" my old B3 became totally unsafe. I picked Fast Deer KL-3B as a safe replacement for the old cheapo for backyard plinking. Cost 29.95 + 10 s/h. Side-level, anti-bear safety mechanism and advertised 800fts.
The gun arrived in an original soft carton package excessively covered by machine oil. The rear sight was broken, but I replaced it from my old B3. After cleaning up, metal parts of the gun appeared to be scratched all over. The stock had a decent finish without visible defect or wood filings. Before disassembling the gun I tried to test it: 5 shots with disappointed 450ftp with Gamo Match 7.71 grain. Trigger pull was close if not over 10lbs. Just like my old B3 on its very first day. The gun had apparent barrel droop and my vision is not perfect, so an accuracy test with a scope didn't happen. The air rifle inside is definitely superior to B3. The inner parts were mostly without sharp edges and loose connections. The biggest disappointment was the power plant. The compression chamber was even smaller than B3 and very rough inside with numerous grooves. The leather seal didn't look very promising and was covered by cheap oil. That gun wasn't even able to compress air enough for detonation of all that junk. I tried to smooth out the internal surface of the chamber, but those grooves were so deep I had to give up after polishing for a half of an hour. As a regular service I polish every single metal part and put everything together. Second test showed averaging 490 ftp with Gamo Match 7.71, but trigger pull improved to a very nice 1.5-2 lbs. The accuracy is close to B3 and as well as every other China-made gun including "expensive" models. -1 inch at 10 meters or so with open sights. The gun won't take a scope because of the barrel droop.
I am not going to complain too much about a $29 dollars rifle. However, this rifle is advertised to produce 800fps and recommended for small hunting. NO WAY!!! Have mercy on those poor animals, do not try to shoot any creature this rifle is too weak.
